We got this hall coat rack as a wedding gift last year and we finally got it up. The hall has yet to be painted so it looks a little spare but oh do I have plans for it... It is such a cute addition I couldn't stand keeping it in the back room any longer! Now we just need to get some chalk to keep track of our busy schedules!
My husband and I bought a old house (we are talking 1846) last year and have been in the process of renovating. Our little house has such charm, it is just hidden behind multiple poor renovations and years of wear and tear. Our hope is to give it a little more life and love that it deserves. Neither me nor my husband Scott has experience in house renovation, well I shouldn't speak for the both of us, my husband is a VERY hands on guy I swear he can fix anything and if he can't then he figures out how. He has help with many relatives with home improvement projects, so he does have some experience. As for me, none. We have been pleasantly surprise with our house but also dismayed by others (like walls that are not straight!) but we have the determination and the vision to see our home through the changes. I will continue to give you guys updates periodically.

Valentines Day D.I.Y. Books
Last year I started a Valentines gift tradition of making a "Love Book" for my now husband. I made this Flip book for him for V-day after we just started dating and little did we know we would be married 8 months later!
I took a video of the 'flipping,' I apologize for the quality I am not a videographer...
Here is the book. I took it to Copy works and they punch holes for the binding and then I used a simple bookbinding method I picked up from Art school.
I'll keep you posted on THIS years Valentines "Love Book"
Do You have any great DIY Valentines gifts for Him?

Spinach and Parmesan Omelette
I have been want to start eating higher protein meals, which actually ends up being only once a day, in order to shape up for the half-marathon coming up. I know eggs are PACKED with protein which is why I am trying to make an attempt to add them into my diet. I like eggs but I am not a huge fan so I was pleasantly surprise how much I LOVE my creation.
Here is the "How to." Believe me you will absolutely love this!
First, chop up a handful of fresh spinach, more or less to your taste, and saute it in a fry pan on low while you complete the next steps
Crack two eggs (I use one whole and one egg white) two dashes of Hott sauce (trust me it won't be too spicy) and a splash of milk. Whisk together until frothy (see pic below), whisking it like this will give it a fluffier texture.
Pour the Egg mixture over the sauteed spinach and let it cook on medium heat until the egg is only slightly 'wet' looking. Usually just about 4mins. Sprinkle with 2 tsp of Parmesan and fold it over.
Vol-ah! You have a scrumptious breakfast/lunch. I usually have a banana on the side and today I was feeling feisty so I added just a few dried cranberries
